Im englischen Fiat-Forum hat jemand den Wortlaut eines Schreibens von Fiat an die Händler eingestellt, das die Änderung erläutert:

From the End of this quarter, the Fiat 500 range will see a new TwinAir trim which will become the centre of the Fiat 500 selling proposition and around this, some of the other engine/trims will remain to satisfy all customers’ needs. 8 versions will be available in the new range (compared to 11 of today). These are:

- TWINAIR
- TWINAIR+
- TWINAIR LOUNGE
- 1.2 POP
- 1.2 LOUNGE
- 1.4 LOUNGE
- 1.3 MJET POP
- 1.3 MJET LOUNGE

POP TWINAIR and all SPORT versions will no longer be available.

New TwinAir Trim

TwinAir is the answer to all customers enquiring for Fiat 500. It will be available on 2 new trims, TwinAir and TwinAir+, and on the current TwinAir Lounge.

TwinAir and TwinAir+ have been designed to attract new customers to the Fiat 500 audience. They will represent the sporty and aggressive choice and they will be targeted to a male and young audience. The exterior and interior look has been specifically designed to appeal to the new target. It will feature:

- 15" alloy wheels (16" black alloys on the TwinAir+)
- Burnished metal effects (as per 500 byDIESEL) on the dashboard and side/front mouldings
- Spoiler
- Chrome exhaust pipe
- Sporty seats

It will be available only with the sportiest colours (including Crossover black, Electroclash grey, Pearlescent red, Tropicalia yellow) and some colour will be exclusive to the TwinAir and TwinAir+ versions only (such us Midnight indigo blue and Matt Black). Price and contents are soon to be released; however we can promise you that these new versions will become the best selling proposition for all customers, combining quality of equipment and affordable price.

The Rest of the Range

TwinAir, TwinAir+ and TwinAir Lounge will become the best offer for Fiat 500 customers. They will be available both for the hatchback and convertible models, to maximise customers’ choice.
The rest of the range will be maintained to satisfy any type of customer:

- If your customer wants a basic and entry level engine, the 1.2 Pop and Lounge will be available
- If your customer is a long journey customer who requires a diesel engine, the current 1.3 MJet will remain available on the Pop and the Lounge trims
- If your customer is looking for a higher performing engine to drive out of town, the 1.4 will be available on the Lounge trim.

Logistics

In preparation to the above change, Wednesday 27th of April, orders for the TwinAir Pop (mvs 031, 531) and for the Sport versions (mvs 053, 085, 056, 051) will be closed. All orders with an OCF will be protected and will be delivered before the launch of the new range. Details on when the orders for the new range will open will follow. You will receive two vehicles per dealer, one for display and one for demo, details on these vehicles will also be communicated shortly.
